Exodus 13:20-21

We apologize, but this weeks sermon wasn't recorded but we have made available the Pastor's manuscript in case you wanted to work through it for this week's dovotional readings.

Here's a exerpt of this week's message.

"Ever feel God is asking you to retrace your steps, and you wonder the same things?   When I look at the Israelites, I wonder if they had the same doubts we do? You see they weren’t as linear as we are. We have this idea that the journey of faith is so linear, God leads step by step in this linear sort of way, never to go back the way we came. For us if it’s not linear we come to the conclusion we’ve lost our way; or that God is disciplining us.   But the journey was never meant to be linear. It’s much more cyclical. Round and round; over and back. Being led every step of the way.   It’s a matter of trust isn’t it? That God had a purpose in leading us down this path, and his purpose and intention is good.   But retracing our steps has a way of surfacing self-doubt, God-doubt, doesn’t it?   It makes us feeling pretty vulnerable, vulnerable to the enemies’ lies.   Just like the Israelites, when we re-trace our steps it feels like we’re smack dab in the enemy’s territory, fully exposed and vulnerable to his attacks."
