Fullness

What does it mean for us to press in more fully into the Hallowedness of God? Hallowed be your name, in my heart as it is in heaven? Before we can ever pray hallowed be your name on earth, it first needs to become real in our own hearts. I have been coming to grips with just how meager my depth of experience is of God. The reason I am so easily distracted by the lesser things in life is because I have not been captivated by just how vast and rich and majestic God is. CS Lewis once said ““It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.” We need God’s Spirit to give us the desire-to-desire more. When I think about plumbing the depths of God’s beauty and mystery and depth I think about the Trinity.
