This was our 4th Sunday of Advent with the theme of God's Love.
Here are some thoughts and notes that give you an idea of this morning's theme.
If we get this right, we get everything... God's love impacts everything, absolutley everything!
Hesed - loving kindness, favour, great loyalty (but no matter how we try to translate this Hebrew word, it falls short)
Think about the idea of God, who is all powerful, reaching down from heaven through the person of Jesus to the powerless.
It can be described as gracious and generous condescension.
God who owes us nothing, chooses to love us with all He's got!
Hesed is more than a concept, in fact it is always an action word - it demonstrates action.
This points us to Jesus, who is the action word.
"God demonstrated His love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" Rom 5:8
Christmas is God's demonstration of love for all humanity.
Prayer: Help us Lord Jesus to see everything through the lens of your unfailing love. Open our eyes that we might see...
